Cincinatti Bill submits this story of Liverpool players hitting each other with golf clubs
As a Liverpool supporter for the last 14 or 15 years or so, I have a few thoughts. One is that Craig Bellamy is the problem here. HE is the one with the rap sheet of racist stuff and the assault charges in the pub with the young women. And not to paint with a broad brush, but isn’t he the one all tatted up? Riise hasn’t EVER been in trouble to my knoweledge and I just don’t think anything happens without Bellamy there. Bellamy is the problem. And besides, I’d rather hear the Norwegian guy do the karaoke than the Brit–maybe he would sing some ABBA, you know? Who doesn’t want to hear Dancing Queen?
And another thing. Now that Tom Hicks has bought into Liverpool, the American media is going to write a few more stories about footy. It is totally inappropriate to bring the Heysel riots into the story about the drunken team mates at the karaoke bar. C’mon! NOT a good analogy. But most Americans wouldn’t know that and will say, “…hmm, oh yea, those soccer guys are violent”. Total nonsense. Totally over the top. Good old American media. Do your homework guys.
And lastly, you mean to tell me Robbie Fowler was drunk? [gasp] NO!?!? hahaha…If anyone knows Raffa Benitez’ mobile number, tell him we want Fowler on the NJ Red Bulls! –fog
While not a fan of karaoke I have never known this to be a hot-button. I have spent lots of time in golf club houses/pro shops and have not known these venues to hold karaoke. How exactly did golf clubs & karaoke end up in the location of the attack?
Note to Liverpool (& all other traveling teams) - if you have guys on the roster that know that they won’t be playing in an away match (Dudek & Fowler) don’t take them out of town for what amounts to college spring break. Lots of $ + lots of free time - wives = tabloid headlines.
